Strawberry Cycle 2017

June 27, 2017 By Tides Management Group 6 Comments

Hello FUN! …. great group, electric bike tour, delicious tastes … A wonderful day with twenty+ of us on the Strawberry Cycle exploring the Strawberry Buzz Festival.

We traveled along the Saanich Peninsula down country lanes and paths. Stopping along the way at local farms, markets and wineries.  Our electric bikes from Pedego Victoria brought the ride alive as we glided along the journey.

At the Roost Farm Centre, we learned about their farm to table production of wheat, grapes and other produce. Marsh Farms is a place to learn about farming your fresh veggies as you pick.  We enjoyed the adventure of discovery walking through the raised garden.

Lunch brought us to Symphony Vineyards, a historic family farm.

Pinot Gris,  Ortega, Marshal Foch wines and a delicious BBQ salmon were savoured in the vineyard next to the budding grapes.  Just down the road was our bakery treat – famous pie at Oldfield Orchard.  This farm stand provides fresh baked goods and produce to make your mouth water!

Following a spin by Bear Hill and Elk Lake,  and a short “pig” stop , we arrived at Michell’s to a treat of fresh strawberries … yum!

This great roadside market has it all ready to go, fresh local goodies.

Back on the trail and a few more turns brought us to Sea Cider Farm. Here we sipped the cool refreshing organic ciders to round out the hot day on the road.

A day of spinning, sipping, savouring and smiling on the Saanich Peninsula!

We had a fantastic time exploring our neighbourhood, by e-bike, enjoying some wonderful eateries, sipping some great wines and ciders and meeting some wonderful people!
Would highly recommend Steve and his company Tidesgroup!

This was my first taste of renting an e bike and I am hooked. Steve made the tour come to life in new ways of places I had whizzed by previously in a car. Something for the whole family, or for older and wider folks like us! I am saving my pennies for my own wheels now….forewarned is forearmed!
